We are Jinks Middle School, and in 2025, we proudly celebrate 75 years of learning, growth, and community here in Panama City, Florida. Since our doors first opened in 1950 on land graciously donated by the Jinks Lumber Company, we’ve stood as a cornerstone in Bay County, guiding generations of young learners with purpose and pride. Over those decades, we’ve witnessed history both joyful and challenging: we endured moments like the heroism tied to our campus in 1953, stood together through Hurricane Michael’s devastation, adapted to unprecedented times during the COVID‑19 pandemic, and continued to champion excellence in academics and athletics alike — all while nurturing students who have become community leaders, public servants, and changemakers.
Our 75th anniversary was marked with the warmth and spirit that define the Hornet family. We kicked off our celebrations with a tailgate alongside one of our football games, welcoming alumni, former coaches, community members, and current students to tour our halls, share memories, and make new ones. Through every challenge and milestone, Jinks has thrived because of the dedication of our incredible staff, the engagement of our families, and the resilience of our students. As we look to the future, we remain committed to our mission: to teach, inspire, and prepare each Hornet to soar, staying true to the tradition of excellence that has defined us for three‑quarters of a century.
